Story

Once, a woodcutter lived in a village. He earned his living by cutting wood and selling them. One day, he was felling a tree on the bank of a river. By chance, his axe slipped and fell into the river and was lost in deep water. He had no other means of earning his living. He started weeping ad crying. The same moment, an angel came there. He took pity on him and decided to help him. He jumped into the river and brought out a golden axe. The woodcutter refused to take it. The angel jumped again and brought out a silver axe. The woodcutter also refused to take it. The angel jumped for the third time and brought out an iron axe. Seeing it, the woodcutter started dancing and crying with joy, "This is mine. This is mine." The angel was much impressed by his honesty. As a reward for his honesty, he gave him the other two axes also. The woodcutter thanked the angel and started his work as usual.

Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
